I had been saving this book for a weekend that I could just sit down and enjoy some good reading time...and I was so happy that I did! Start by marking “It All Comes Back to You” as Want to Read: Error rating book. I enjoyed how this book alternated between the past, Violet in the late 1940s to the early 1960s, and Ronni in the present. Beautiful, seventeen-year-old Violet lives in a perfect world.

This is Duke's third book, but the writing still felt like a debut, self-published novel.

She was like a … Wow. I loved Ronni and her wonderful, dry, self-deprecating humor. Beth Duke is the recipient of short story awards on two continents and is eyeing the other five. Thought provoking questions are great when you're in the mood to dig into conversation with real substance. This is truly a must read book. I highly recommends! This is, as I said, a deceptively simple story that unfolds at a slow southern pace and charms as it goes along. You want to put the book down so as to have more to read tomorrow, but you can't. That there will always be bonds that are unbreakable and the depth that some will go to for that type of love.

It has taken me over nine days to finish this book, which is very unusual, and while part of that is just life getting busy for various reasons, I will admit that had it not been a review copy, I would’ve abandoned it once it became clear that it’s fundamentally a romance novel disguised as a Lovely Book. When she dies, she leaves Ronni a very generous bequest―only if Ronni completes a book about her life within one year. I think the blurb reviews on the back cover were totally made up out of thin air by the author so she could sell her book. Ultimately it will make you want to tell a story, whether that story be yours or theirs.
